The Halecrest / Hall of Fame neighborhood is bounded by the 405 Freeway to the north, Harbor Boulevard to the west, Fairview to the east, and Baker Street to the south.

This neighborhood is centrally located and has mature trees and winding streets and cul-de-sacs. While major thoroughfares and freeways are easily accessible, the neighborhood itself is quiet and secluded and doesn’t have much through traffic. The homes typically have 4-5 bedrooms.

The neighborhood is broken up into several areas including:

-Halecrest

Halecrest consists of approximately 380 homes and was one of the first planned developments in the city. The homes were built by Herman Hale and he originally planned to call the tract College Estates but changed his mind when he found out that the College Park neighborhood was being built by a developer a mile away. The homes here were built on raised foundations and were typically one-story, although many have been transformed over the years. Driving through the neighborhood you will see that lots of homes have quaint woodwork, reminiscent of that era. A good deal of the homes are still owned by the original families and others have since been bought by a younger generation of first time buyers. Many people have made modern upgrades to the homes over the years.

-Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame section of the neighborhood is made up of about 200 homes that have a very special Tahitian style, which was popular in the 1960s. These homes are situated close to Halecrest Park Swim & Tennis Club.

-French Quarters

This quiet community features an association pool & spa as well as a lovely greenbelt area. The townhomes here have 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, are 2 floors, and have 2-car detached garages. The association fees for this community are quite reasonable at about $250/month.
