South Coast Metro
South Coast Metro is a neighborhood located in the northern part of Costa Mesa and it is set in the heart of Orange County. The area is bounded by the City of Santa Ana to the north, the 405 Freeway to the south, Fairview to the west and the City of Irvine to the east. It is home to world class shopping centers like South Coast Plaza and Metro Pointe, Orange County Performing Arts Center, Segerstrom Hall, movie theaters, restaurants, and neighborhood parks that are easily accessible to the 800 homes and condominiums that make up the neighborhood. South Coast Metro is vibrant community where the arts are thriving and entertainment is literally at your doorstep.
The neighborhood is broken up into several areas including:
-Greenbrook
The Greenbrook homes feature 3-5 bedrooms and at least 2 baths. The homes were built in the 1970s and have 2-car garages. These homes are either one or 2-stories. Contemporary in style, many of these homes have been updated as well. Homes range from about 1,400 square feet up to about 2,500 square feet. Many of these homes have private yards and patios for entertaining. The homes in this tract are situated on what are affectionately called “The Flower Streets” because the streets are named for flowers like Dahlia, Begonia, Plumeria, etc. The boundaries of this tract are Fushia St. to the west, South Coast Plaza mall to the east, South Coast Drive to the south, and Sunflower Ave. to the north.
-Wimbledon Village
Wimbledon Villages homes were built in the late 1970s and early 1980s. These homes feature 3-4 bedrooms, at least 2 baths and have 2-car garages. You can find one & two-story homes throughout this community. Homes range from 1,500 square feet to 3,000 square feet. These homes do have an association fee of about $130/month for the amenities, which include a pool, spa, and clubhouse. There is also a central park/greenbelt complete with outdoor workout stations. Wimbledon Willage is the westernmost tract in South Coast Metro.
-Mesa Woods
Mesa Woods homes were built in the 1970s and vary in size from 1,200 square feet up to 3,000 square feet. The homes have 2 car attached garages and include one & two-story homes. San Leandro Lane and Smalley Road are the two major entries to this tract. The neighborhood is roughly bounded by South Coast Drive to the south, Sunflower to the north, Tulare and Santa Clara to the west and Wakeham Park and Smalley Road to the east.
-Village Creek
Village Creek is a townhome community that was built in the late 1970s. There are 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom units in this complex and all of the units have at least 2 bathrooms and 2-car garages. The units range from 1,200 square feet up to 1,800 square feet and most are 2-story and 3-story units. Nestled along Sunflower Ave. by Bear Street, these units are a close walk to South Coast Plaza and Metro Pointe so they are perfect for those who like shopping and entertainment.
